Where No One Stands Alone

Once I stood in the night
With my head bowed low
In the darkness as black as could be
And my heart felt alone and I cried oh Lord
Don’t hide your face from me

Like a king I may live in a palace so tall
With great riches to call my own
But I don’t know a thing
In this whole wide world
That’s worse than being alone
Hold my hand all the way, every hour every day
Come here to the great unknown

Take my hand, let me stand
Where no one stands alone

Take my hand, let me stand
Where no one stands alone

In Isaiah 58:8-9 we are told “Then shall your light break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up speedily; your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and he will say, ‘Here I am.’ If you take away the yoke from your midst, the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness.”

He is telling us that He is our rear guard.  He has our back!  He will not let us go through anything alone as long as we have faith and live a faithful life.  Even if we are hurt, grieving or struggling He will be there.

“Come to me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28.  He will take the burden from us.  He will hold our hand and stand with us and help us bear our load.

The Lord will not leave us and he tells us this in Deuteronomy 31:6: “Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you or forsake you.”

No matter what you are going through, God will never leave us. We will always be where no one stands alone.

Have a Blessed Day
